Scott W. Brown
Mr. Brown is President and CEO of 6th Dimension, Inc. He founded the company after 25 years of leadership, simulation software development, and technical experience serving Army Aviation, Air Force Programs, NASA, and the commercial industry, His demonstrated ability to architect and create powerful software solutions rapidly and apply those solutions to real-world problems provides a unique perspective to the industry.
Mr. Brown was the Chief Architect and founder of Tellus simulation and visualization environment for data analysis, HMI design, and mission scenario development. Tellus consists of a core SDK and Virtual Earth environment designed with service-oriented architecture and plugin-based extendability. The software architecture supports a scalable model for distributed, multi-threaded, component extension, with an integrated version tolerance system to allow safe, adaptive changes over time. The implementation fully utilizes Azure DevOps for product lifecycle management.
Tellus Studio was used to develop a broad range of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) concepts including Manned/Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T) and Ground-Based Sense and Avoid (GBSAA). Tellus provided the simulation environment used to develop multi-aircraft control, sense and avoid procedures, algorithms, and HITL displays. Tellus also supports the simulation of aircraft, sensors, and data links for pre-flight test validation and rehearsal. The system is currently used by Air Force Research Labs (AFRL) for human/machine trust and autonomy research and functions as a flight simulator, image generator, and battlespace visualizer. The AFRL Transparency in Autonomous Collaboration and Teaming (TACT) lab environment utilizes the Tellus SDK and plugin components for DIS, CIGI, ARINC, and 6-DOF flight physics models combined with a core image generator and c# scripting system. All software is delivered remotely, without the need for on-site expert integration.
Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Mississippi State University.
